Guiding nonprofits to success for over 25 years

In 1994 Beth Schaffer began her consulting practice after many years as successful fundraiser. As a workshop leader, facilitator, trainer, project manager and coach, Ms. Schaffer helps volunteer and staff leaders bring out the best in each other and in their organizations.

In addition to providing customized management assistance to dozens of individual nonprofits, she has designed and conducted workshops for the Center for Nonprofit Management, BoardSource, Washington Area Women’s Foundation, the Support Center of Washington and the University of the District of Columbia.

Ms. Schaffer earned a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin—Madison and an M.S. in Organization Development from the University of San Francisco. She is a Licensed Consultant with the Standards for Excellence Institute of Maryland Association of Nonprofits, and a member of the National Network of Consultants to Grantmakers and the Association of Fundraising Professionals.  In 2015, she completed two 3-year terms as the Board Chairperson of Innovation Network, a national nonprofit consulting firm that helps funders and nonprofits learn from their work to improve results.

When not changing the world, Ms. Schaffer can be found in her garden or hiking with her husky mix, Layla.

Fundraising Tip:
If you want advice from someone, ask for money. If you want money, ask for advice.
